The Taiko Brawler Ring

Sign-up, bet on fights, or simply enjoy a
drink and watch first blood be drawn.

The Taiko Ring is a show of martial skill and/or plain brute brawn. In other words, a good ol' fist fight. The standard brawl is without weapons, players may request to use weapons, but both participants in the fight must be in agreement and 'sign' our waivers. Please note that magic is forbidden in all fights. Death, similarly, is not allowed unless a waiver is signed by the combatant.

Please see our Bookie Table for Sign-ups and Betting. There is a limited amount of fight slots per night, so first come first serve. One may sign up in the discord or message staff in game before open if staff is around or during.Note that the fight ring is enchanted to self repair, and has an activated barrier to help prevent our patrons from injury due to any possible crossfire or mishaps from fighters in the ring.10 minute intervals between fights. Please place bets before fights start. (Bookie may be bribed after bets close.)

Betting Rules

  • Minimum bet is 10,000 Gil**.

  • Maximum Bet is 1,000,000 Gil**.

  • Must be in intervals of 10,000's

  • House Fee: 5% Cut

  • Bets Cannot be Withdrawn or Changed once fights begin.

  • Win: Recieve Original Wager + Percentage of Lost Bets Based on Original Wager

  • Lose: Sadly... try again.

  • Tie: If there is a tie, all bets are returned.

General House Rules

/shout is for all fight emotes.
/yell is reserved for staff.

Blood and Death Waivers can be signed so long as both parties of the fight agree before the round. These Waivers gives players the option to utilize martial or melee weapons in your round. Weapons will be retrieved via our Front Desk Assistant, BonBon, and will be placed back carefully once the fight concludes. Even if you plan to fight in the ring with weapons, all weapons MUST still be checked in at the front desk. They will be brought to arena via fighter's check in tag.OOC Rules: No godmodding, metagaming, or extreme character harm/death without the opponent player's OOC permission. Magic is forbidden from use for all fights due to patron risk, even with waivers. No exceptions, breaking this rule will have consequences.

Fight Ruleset

  1. Fight begins with d20 roll for initiative to determine turn order.

  2. Players will then alternate attacks and rolls based on initiative.
    ie: Player 1 will emote to attack and roll after emote and then Player 2 will roll to defend
    ---- Player 2 will then make emote based on defending roll and include their own attack in the emote after defend/hit.
    ---- Player 2 will roll to attack after their own emote, and Player 1 will roll to defend against.
    ---- Rinse and repeat.
    (If needing further example please ask. It's a standard 3v3 Hit system with a D20)

  3. The first to get hit 3 times is considered out. OR Player w/ least amount of hits wins at the end of a 20 Minute timer. (If there are few sign-ups hit count may be upped to 5 per Referee discretion.)

First Hit In: Roll Odd= Stripes | Roll Even= Solid

The First to 7: Simple as is, when going on your turn roll a 1d20,
Over 12 = A hit | Nat 20 = Two go in | Nat 1= Scratch.
• On a Scratch opponent gets to roll with advantage on next turn.
• You don’t switch turns until you have failed to hit a ball in or scratch.
• First to successfully strike in 7 will be left with the 8 ball.
Opponents don’t be discouraged, you can still catch up!Roll an 8: Anytime during First to 7, if you roll an 8 you must roll 1d20 to determine if you accidentally hit in the 8 ball. Roll a 1 or 8 you hit the 8 ball in, and lose the game.Shooting the 8: You have hit in all 7 of your balls! All that is left is the 8 ball. To successfully shoot the 8 ball in, on your turn roll 1d20, over 15 you win. Roll a 1 or an 8 and you hit the 8 ball in but also scratch, losing the game.

Backstory

What started as a small nightclub beneath a noodle shop in the back alleys of the Kugane Dori, has now expanded into a much larger operation in the building across from where it all began. Operating on the upper penthouse floors of the apartment complex one will find the luxury lounge, Ōkami Kage.Ran together by Life-Mates, Alex and Vianna, the two can be seen accompanied by various namazu staff that assist in running the place. Bribes of tea in the works to keep their namazu happy. Should the owners or regular staff not be present, then expect a squeak and waddle your way to be assisted by the many namazu throughout the lounge.With one of the owner’s magical prowess, Ōkami Kage is warded off to safely protect the patrons from any wandering eyes. It also acts as a nifty sound barrier to prevent any detection from possible Sekiseigumi that patrol the dori. While known to the public, the owners have a few… connections to ensure the place is left alone in peace by the Seki. Should anyone be seeking asylum within these walls, then look no further to Ōkami Kage.

  • No Fighting Outside the Ring: Ōkami Kage is meant to be an escape for those of all walks of life to sit, enjoy a drink, and maybe even talk business with their rivals on these neutral grounds. Please note that things may happen ICly, and there will be IC consequences. Warnings may be given should a fight break out... but that's to be expected here from time to time.

  • Please check in any weapons, coats, and hats at the front desk.
